Happe in talks with potential sponsor, has to miss Pescara

Last Saturday we didn’t expect to see Siegfried Happe on Pescara, as he announced right after the last race in MontJuic, that he won’t make the race. As we suspected, the conversation we saw in the pitlane of Montjuic was a future sponsor and Happe will already be in new colors next Saturday for Donington Park. It was said sponsor, that Happe was in extensive talks over the race weekend, hence his absence from the race at Pescara.

We already saw a glimpse of the car on the way to Hungary and the new sponsor has already put his mark on the car: The “Hermann Werner GmbH & Co. KG” is sponsoring the next 2 years for Siegfried Happe in a silver 6CM with red accents. The company behind the german driver allowed Siegfried to race the 8CM as it was previously presented on MontJuic, but will probably add their name to the car in the following season.

To recap Happes results in a quick list right before the send of the season:

Race numberYearTrackResult

41935Nancy-Seichamps4th place

Since the 2 worst races will be discarded, that leaves Happe for a good result in Donington Park to keep up the fight with Jorge Manuel Russo – who has been winning every Gentlemen Drivers Race since Nancy-Seichamps and has been growing in reputation ever since. If Happe will get an offer to one of the Professional Teams remains unknown, but with the backing of the Hermann Werner GmbH & Co.KG, the Leipziger can sleep a bit easier now as we look forward to this Saturdays spectacle.

We got into a quick interview on the way from Wuppertal, the headquarter of the newly founded Hermann Werne GmbH & Co.KG to Hungary:

“From the documents and drawings of the track, i have to say, that I’m fairly unsure, what we will encounter. I feel like there is no right or wrong choice in the car decision. The track has a lot of turns, which would benefit the 6CM more than the 8CM, but it also has a lot of flowing turns, which the 8CM would gain more speed advantage out of. It’s a tough nut to crack, but we decided to go with the faster car and hope for a chance to fight in the front this Saturday.”

When asked about the new sponsor, Happe announced happily:

“Yes, talks have been fruitful and we continue to build a great relationship with Mister Werner, who is going to transfer the future of Grand Prix Racing with his very durable tools. Our mechanics have switched completely to his set of tools overnight and the results have been astonishing – If the mechanics are happy and have less stress, then that resonates through the whole team, giving us a moral boost, which is needed on the last stretch to the end.”
