It’s early in the morning on Spa-Francorchamps and we are just got word about the starting grid. As Muffler Shop racing gets the car ready on the belgium track, we noticed that there are 2 Voisin C6 Laboratoires listed for the evening. We havn’t seen any lap of the driver of this Voisin yet, but it’s only a matter of time, until we know, what setup and speed is behind the driver of the car known as “Marulete” (Pacific Storm Racing Club). The Voisin C6 of Muffler Shop Racing will start in the back from P17, while the other Voisin of the Pacific Storm Racing Club will start on P11 in the mid pack.
Are they ready? Trompke unsure about the race
The weather forecast is vague: “temperature being just over 20°C and partly cloudy day. Although as in Spa, everything is possible as the weather can change rapidly during the race. Wind speed is expected to be westerly around 5 m/s.” If that means rain or not, we cannot tell. If we will see Spa in the wet today, Trompke is confident to get some time advantage out of it. As for the dry conditions, Trompke disclosed, that he is “unsure about the race itself. We of course have the same goals as Feldbergring, which is firstly to avoid crashes at all cost, secondly to finish the race and third to not be last. If we can keep those 3 goals to the end, the team will be happy!”

Setup decisions | How agressive do they run the car?
In terms of the tuning of the car, Trompke shared some info: “We experimented a bit with setups and felt like the Feldbergring setup was ultimately a good and stable one, but we wouldn’t push the car too much. While testing, our race engineer made some changes that benefitted the lap times on our car dramatically, only making it marginally more agressive and unstable in the process. Without the effort of our engineers in the wet test a week ago, we wouldn’t be here!”
