The state of racing: Skip Barber ends! what will the new WSS season bring? TWS first race at Spa sparks excitement!

Today on the 29th of June, we say goodbye to the daily series “Skip Barber Cup” and release the standings right before the last race, as they will not change much after the last race today:

The very intense battle between Nick Van der Meijde and Mick Trompke was very exciting to watch, even though in the last few weeks of the season, Trompke took points home, while Van der Meijde had to sit out several races. The two drivers rivaled each other since the first season of the Intake, when the Alba EV100 featured a plethora of vintage racing tracks. Back then Mikus Actins was also high up in the fight for points before dropping out of the usual WSS series except the Tatuus World Series.

We also saw a riveting battle in the Renault 1906 on Grobnik, that Nick Van der Meijde could end in front of Trompke. Now with the end of the Skip Barber Cup, the question remains: When will the 2 drivers meet each other car to car, side by side?

The clear winner of this season of the Skip Barber Cup is without a shadow of a doubt Marko Nykänen, who won 11 out of the 13 races he finished for the cup. Congratulations to Marko for this incredible result!

WSS – 3rd Season is around the corner | 2 new series appearently?

We are closing in on the last day for the 2nd season of the official WSS racing series. Since a few of them did seem quite empty from time to time, it’s but certain that some series (Touring Car Championship, Random Evening Series) might see the cutting board this Sunday night, but we can confirm and might excite a few: There are 2 new events on the rise. What they are exactly, we cannot say just yet, but be patient – today at 23:00 CET, we will see the announcement of the new calendar!

Everybody ready for Spa? We sure hope so!

The season opener of the Tatuus World Series Season 2 is up in a few hours and the drivers have accumulated almost 300 laps on Spa already to be ready for todays opening race which will have heavy clouds and about 16° Celsius at the start. From the results we have quite the suprising news: Fastest team so far seems to be Spinardi 50, mainly Evan Ghelos, team principle and the newest driver in the bunch: Cauã Guilherme. Both seem to crush the competition by at least 2 tenths, with Stattin (Latvian Lightning Locomotives) in 3rd place and Mike Van der Burgt (Burgt Racing) in 4th.

What the race will bring is very open to speculation – with the race regulations now asking for at least one pitstops and the changing to at least one other compound, the strategies of the teams might be something interesting to look for.
