In the early morning of Friday the first test for the Voisin took place at Kelbra, Germany. Coming from Feldbergring – the setup was changed for Kelbra to get the high amounts of sharp turns under control. First races on Kelbra have been taken place in the last 3 years starting in 1922 – so this downhill and hillclimb track makes for a good practice – ironing out the problems of the C6 Laboratoire.

In the early morning hours, Trompke had the road for himself and accomplished a 3.42:500 on his first run. What’s possible on this track and if the setup of the car until tomorrow can improve the time will have to wait. The road at Hohenstein-Ernstthal is going to be tested next week and will make a good practice of high speeds and tight turns. After that, quite close to Spa – we will see Deutschlandring (built a few years go in Hohnstein, Dresden) – which will be a test of elevation and a mix of the previous tests, sharp turns and high speeds.

Trompke is looking forward to the next few weeks: “The idea is to really test the car for all eventualities and make Spa a safe bet, that we can survive. Kelbra will prove a difficult test, as the car is quite long to begin with and turns quite heavy, but we just have to find a way, this car wants to be driven.”
