Sigillus
“It’s going to be fun driving for our homecrowd in our special livery. We prepered well and did enough testing so we confidently head into the race.” ~Mike Van der Burgt
“i feel decent about it, hoping for a solid result like Daytona maybe even better.” ~Tyler Schlebusch
“Prepared, yes, pace is good but pace proved to not be enough at Daytona so the bumps are the main concern again” ~A. E. Gavars
“I’ve actually been enjoying Zandvoort, very fun track to drive. Hoping I can fight for points tomorrow.” ~Mitch Fusco
“Zandvoort is a really complicated circuit, tons of twists and turns and honestly it’s like a roller coaster. Our car seems alright, I’m not expecting us to make any miracles but we’ll definitely be in the top 5 and maybe challenging for the podium. Tyre deg seems very high so the strategies might get interesting so yeah. 2 races to go and I’m certain that we’ll be able to secure P3 in the drivers’ and P4 in the team’s championships.” ~Matt Contreras
“I was eagerly anticipating for Zanvoort. Even tho I’m not that fast, it is one of my favourite circuits. This will be my last TWS S1 Race so I’m hoping for an enjoyable finale on my side. I’m sure I will be having fun, can’t wait.” ~Claudio Diana
“I feel good. I am excited to see and do some good overtakes. I think this race can go as laguna seca for me.” ~Lukas Gruber
“Honestly, I am currently struggling with the car as you saw from my Spark Plug appearances, however Mativeri is relatively comfortable with the car so he will be quick. The only thing now is to do some practice laps, race prep, get our strategy in place and then jump in the main event and see how it goes” ~Aditya Surve
“Hopefully it’s a good race clean race, I want to make a couple changes before the race. I can’t see us having a fantastic result, maybe top 10.” ~Mativeri
Special Interview with the LGI Racing Team owner: Nick Van der Meijde
“So Nick, thanks for this interview, the season is almost over, with the next stop being your home race! How has the season treated you and the team? Were team goals met or do you see improvements?”
“This season has been amazing, the race at Grobnik was a real highlight. Our original goals were modest, just aiming to score points once or twice, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come. We did face challenges, especially with pit stops and strategies. However, by carefully calculating and monitoring how long the tires last, we managed to overcome those hurdles. Looking ahead to Zandvoort, I’m optimistic. I really hope I don’t bin it there, but honestly, I think the track drives really nicely, so that shouldn’t be a problem. I’m also really proud of the team. I have high hopes for Season 2.”
“Can you give us a quick rundown of the team changes for Season 2?”
“There are some notable changes coming for Season 2.
We’ve expanded to two teams: LGI Racing and LGI Junior Racing. LGI Racing will feature Matt Contreras and Imanol Salvador as the main drivers, with Lukas Gruber as the reserve. LGI Junior Racing will consist of the og trio Simon Durkac, myself, and Mitch Fusco as our reserve driver.
We’re currently considering someone to assist with setups and strategies. There was initial interest in bringing Danielle Tallarino on board as an engineer, but after some issues during previous races, we decided not to move forward with him.
Matt will be handling the liveries, and we’re confident the cars will look great.
As for our goals, the main team is aiming for a top 5 finish in the constructors’ championship, and possibly even a win or two. Integration has gone well Lukas and Matt have fit into the team smoothly, and the overall atmosphere is strong heading into the new season.”
