[Interview] Things are HEATING UP! TWS goes to DAYTONA!
Sigillus
The Spark Plug showed us how bumpy of a track Daytona is for the Tatuus FA01 and every driver participating was up all night, fine tuning the setup to counter the uneven surface! Since the paddock did not sleep, we used the opportunity to ask the question: How did you prepare and what are your goals today?
“Preparations were done like we always do them. Drive laps and change the setup to what we think works better. I’m very curious about how the race is going to go and what will happen. After missing some races I’m very excited to race again. My goal is to finish in the top 5.” ~Mike Van der Burgt
“My goal is to finish the race, i had sports practise yesterday so my legs are shot” ~Tyler Schlebusch
“Goal is to win and not die in the bus stop or to any of the bumps” ~A. E. Gavars
“new week new problem with the steering wheel, it randomly disconnnectws and im currently doing tests to ujnderstand if i can actually drvie 45 minutes no problem, for the rest i think daytona is an easy track made hard by the amount of bumps and JUMPS there are on the track, with gt3 youy feel it a lot, with tatuus you just start flying. main goal is just to not hit the wall and keep it on the track” ~Gioele Frisa
“We have prepared as always, and with our strong lineup consisting of me and Imanol we are getting our hopes up for our best finish yet.” ~Simon Durkac
“
“I hope I know the track well enough from the 24h race. I hope to finish” ~Matei Olteanu
“Since the championship is almost over, I’ll try to enjoy the remaining races as much as i can. Daytona is really fun but we are lacking of proper setup, so it will be mostly a matter of survival. No penalties and enjoy the race, those will be my goals.” ~Claudio Diana
“I didnt practiced as much as i would like i dont have good pace but feel great this race is going to be intresting” ~Lukas Gruber
“monkey racing setup isnt working as wanted, track is very bumpy and not made for the tatuus, i expect either a dnf or being last today” ~Daniele Tallarino
“Honestly today’s goals are to just try not to spin over the bumps. In all honesty Daytona, the team doesn’t particularly like the track, it’s a weak track for us. But with our current pace from practice, we have a shot for some points baring any incidents. The bumps on this track is prone to make the car spin especially since they are right when you are accelerating out of corners. We will still give it our best shot.” ~Aditya Surve
“For me it’s just to not let my sickness affect my result too much” ~Simon Brännström Stattin
“Not much to say, I believe we can fight for the podium but it’ll be a roulette today, the field is really tight so we’ll see. Bumps have proven to be a pain with the low grip, especially in sector 1. The first curves are going to be hell to get through without spinning on both the quali and the race, so the strategy is to just avoid making any mistakes and staying in the mix” ~Matt Contreras
