[Interview] Post Race Interview – Round 2 – Magione

im not writing shit about this race, im erasing it from my memory ~Arturs Edvards Gavars

well i am quite happy and sad at the sme time for my race at magione! For gods sake this is too weird. but anyway i know that i probably could have gotten that podium quite easily with my strategy, but the penaltys i got for jumpstarting by 1kmh and the pit speeding were bullshit, i understand the jumpstart but the pit speeding was just stupid, but i got them and i raced anyway, i am very happy with my results considering what happened, i know you were wondering what my strategy was , so i was trying to do soft mediums but the mediums i was pushing too much and i was unsure if i was going to make it to the end, with no way of knowing what my times were and what the gap ahed was i decided to get in for softs to complete the race, looking at the replay i probably could have kept it out but its good, still got 9th place and fastest lap thanks to those softs, so i am very happy, also now i still have to see my positions, for the bruscino divebomb i might be getting 8th place, this is all to be seen, but it was a fun weekend, lots of ups and downs and on the way to suzuka we go! ~Goele Frisa (finished 9th)

The start went rather well, I managed to take the lead of the race after a couple of laps but made a series of dreadful mistakes. After the pitstop there was some pace, but the gap was too big to close to the cars fighting ahead. I’m happy that Gioele got the fastest lap and an extra point for the championship, but regarding my performance, even though I didn’t have big expectations for this round, it still feels really bad to lose a fight for the podium in this manner. Looking forward to the next rounds to really show my pace and the level at which LJL is capable of operating at. ~Mikus Actiņš (finished 7th)

Magione gave us some good feedback on what to work on and what are our possibilities in the championship. We left Baku with many questions and a bit of disappointment, now we have some answers and some points in the team standings. In Magione we had our fun, unfortunately there has been some mistakes here and there, but compared to Baku I think we kept the promise of being consistent. Ciro has some real good potential, we see him battling in the front more and more. Once some stuff is fixed, I’m sure his talent will be something to be reckoned with. I found my fights against Schlebush (Muffler Shop Academy) to be engaging, in particular the head to head for P10 on the last curves: My tires were completely shot and, to stand a chance in that last duel, I had to go all in. Unfortunately, it didn’t end in my favour, but I believe it was the right call to make. Suzuka will be a battleground for every team in the grid, our challenge will be to have both cars score points. It won’t be an easy task, but we will do our best. ~Claudio Diana (Finished 12th)

We worked hard on driving without errors, and as a result, we achieved temporary P8 and P12 without being too aggressive. A few mistakes cost us a couple of positions, and on my part, a poor strategy based on medium tires on a high-grip track dropped me from fighting with Potenza for P3 and Mativeri for P4 to battling from distance with Actins for P7, as I wasn’t able to push the car and the tires to their limit. We need to improve our defensive and offensive strategies, and both of our fights with Schlebush are perfect examples. I misjudged the space and hit him from behind on the right rear, while Claudio lost control due to the extreme conditions of his tires. Right now, many drivers are faster than us, but I feel we are closing the gap with some of them, and the five positions we gained compared to the first race show that. Personally, I want to thank Potenza and Mativeri for the incredible race they gave me up until my first pit stop. Despite their results, both of them fairly won the battle against me with less efficient tires. I can say that, at the end of the day, we both improved, and this race gave us great satisfaction. ~Ciro Bruscino (finished 8th)

Race was good overall apart from my goofy pit entrance and the few spins and minor crashes i had Im happy with my 2 position gain tbh Its def better than what unfortunately happened to gavars and stattin at the start. ~Daniele Tallarino (finished 15th)

not happy with traction going as low as 92%, practice wasnt much help, I was doing better times on mediums with cooked tires and a lot of fuel rather than in quali the track on 98+ traction wasnt even bad, the whole complaint was traction related other than that I had my 1 brain cell moment hitting a fellow muffler shop teammate so I take home the “bust of the day” cup my final result feels about what I expected so we all good (we aint all good) ~Sebastian Iordache (finished 14th)

It was okay, it’s really unfortunate what happened on lap 1 turn 2 and further into the race where I got used as a brake and sent flying off track. Overall I’m okay with tenth but it could/would have been better had I not gotten hit. It wasn’t a bad race overall, I did get P10 which is what I wanted but I did get a lot more damage compared to what I was expecting. In the end I am happy the race is over and I can try focus on Suzuka. ~Tyler Schlebusch (finished 10th)

I dont know what to say about this i mean it was good just didnt like the track that much could have had P14/15 without one incident but i ended P18, not good, not bad result i hope suzuka will be better. ~Michal Šulc (finished in P18)

With my brake pedal being suboptimal and just not wanting to act normal my laps where not on point. On the last couple of laps I could do faster laps then P18, but he was 2 laps ahead of me. ~Nick Van der Meijde (finished 19th)

I’m happy I finished on the podium. I expected there to be chaos this race, but did not expect that I would gain this much from it. It was a good race, my pace was good for the whole race and I didn’t get into any incident or contact. However, I still don’t like the track and would not like to race on it again. ~Wesley Van der Burgt (finished 3rd)

I’m happy with finishing 2nd, although halfway through the race I thought I could finish 1st. The race started with a lot of chaos from which I took advantage, I avoided contact and gained places. All the practice laps I did were not for nothing. I was very consistent in the race because I know the track blindly. Now I’m very happy to head to Suzuka, it’s one of my favorite tracks. I’m really looking forward to it. ~Mike Van der Burgt (finished 2nd)
