You don’t need to guess or even look much down the results to see, that Aditya Surve (LAME Motosport) yet again managed to finish high on todays “Ignition” by going over the chequered flag in 2nd place. The replay showed, that Sebastian Iordache and Rodrigo Peixoto actually had a last lap fight in the last few turns, that resulted in Surve to make up that time and almost catching Peixoto at the finish line. As for the rest of the grid, Filip Gulik made a powerful return to the races by finishing forth. He was very invested in fighting Aditya for 3rd place the whole time in the race, but couldn’t keep up with the indian driver. On the back of the grid, Trompke had to stand down from any fights, making many mistakes along the way. Mitchell Fusco (LGI Racing) proclaimed, that the car is quite a handful and fairly unstable at points, finishing P10. Bergamaschi, known for his humble beginnings in the Carburetor, aswell as Channel had to retire the car eventually due to some collisions that happened in the race.

“lets not fight in L1 so we can be safe from others […] If you nuke me in T1 I’m never driving here again” ~Lukáš Gruber
It was like a jinx, because what followed was an almost crash between the two Italczech drivers, that almost saw the end of the race for both of them. Gruber, who managed to get clear of his teammate, was faces with his car sliding into T2, where the following driver Olavo Machado went into him, turning his car around and spinning it off track in the process. The team radio confirmed, what the fans were feeling: “Nah”.
With that, Grubers hunt for the lead was on and on the hunt he was. His run to the top was overshadowed by a malicious driver (Vinith Samson J), who went on a rampage at the half way mark of the race, crashing out Tallarino, Trompke and others. Handed with a race ban under the Muffler-Shop organizer, his future on WorldSimSeries looks bleak and will continue to do so, if his driving style will not adjust according to the ruleset, WSS enforces. As we followed him after the race, he only laughed it off without any direct comment. It should be a big suprise, if we see Vinith Samson J in the paddock again after todays race.
In the end, Gruber retook his position in front of Tallarino, securing Italczech the P2-3 podium. Tallarino profusely apologized after the race, seeing his mistake in the replay. Gruber seems to attract misfortune on the track and today was no exception. Tallarino proved yet again, that he can be fast in qualifying, but if he can’t make the move to the lead in T1, every fight for positions will become a coin flip, due to his on track behavior. If he changes in the future will be a big question, especially as the pre-season testing gets closer every day!
