Salvador proves himself yet again | Fenix storms to P3 in an action-packed Spark Plug event at Nürburgring

The Spark Plug race today delivered a high-octane spectacle at the legendary Nürburgring, leaving many buzzing with adrenaline and eagerly anticipating what’s next. With 27 drivers on the grid, this race had it all – precision driving, heartbreak, and the sheer grit that defines racing on the limits.

Imanol Salvador was the man of the hour, starting from pole position and putting on a textbook display of how to command a race. From lights out to the checkered flag, Salvador never put a wheel wrong. Not only did he secure a decisive victory, but he also set the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1:28.008, underlining his dominance. Salvador’s performance was a masterclass in focus and speed, proving once again why he’s one to watch in the Spark Plug series.

Amidst the incredible racing action, controversy erupted after an incident which happened during the penultimate lap at the final corner. James Flanagann, part of team HighSpeed Racing, and Kristian Mihaylov were involved in a dramatic incident that left opinions divided. As the two drivers battled fiercely for position, contact was made, spinning Flanagann around and later sparking heated discussions in the paddock.

Post-race, opinions were split. Some drivers and fans sided with Flanagann, arguing that he held the racing line and Mihaylov’s move was overly ambitious. Others defended Mihaylov, stating that Flanagann’s defense was too lackluster and he failed to leave room for Mihaylovs’ car. A few drivers, meanwhile, deemed it a racing incident, attributing the clash to the high-pressure environment and intense nature of the battle.

The drive of the day undoubtedly belonged to Fulvio Fenix. Starting from the very back of the grid in P27, Fenix unleashed an awe-inspiring charge through the field. With masterful overtakes, bold moves, and an unrelenting spirit, he clawed his way up to finish P3 and on the podium.

Fenix’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, a true testament to his supreme talent. He proved his worth once again and showcased himself as a driver who continues to push the limits, meet expectations, and deliver unforgettable moments on the race track.

This event was more than just another race – it was a litmus test for the drivers’ readiness as they prepare for the upcoming Tatuus World Series. With the first test race of this eagerly awaited championship just three days away, on the 21st of December, the stakes have never been higher. The performances at the Nürburgring offered valuable insights into the form of the competitors, namely, Simon Durkac, James Flanagann, Sebastian Iordache, Michal Šulc and Lukáš Gruber

The Nürburgring never fails to produce drama, and this race was no exception. From Salvador’s dominant display to Fenix’s meteoric charge through the field, the daily Spark Plug event showcased the unpredictable, thrilling nature of simracing.
