Today we saw another Glovebox at Brand Hatch. Very different from the one on Tuesday, the Abarth drivers faced an impossible enemy on the road: The JCW Mini. Even with 150kg in the trunk and a 100% restrictor, the JCW was still the faster car by few seconds. It looked promising, when Imanol Salvador put in a 00:54.019 in his Abarth, but Aditya Surve had an answer: 00:53.304. Imanol started P7, in front of him only Mini Coopers and the race had it coming. The setup for the Abarth wasn’t calculated well for some drivers, so we saw pitstops for fuel in the last few laps. But coming back to the first laps, the Abarth of Mick Trompke, Sebastian Iordache, Vural Türker and Imanol Salvador had little to say against the power of the JCW. There were fights with Peixoto, Morganti and even Corral in the beginning, but in the end, with the fuel strategy messed up, the best result was done by Imanol himself, starting P7 and ending on P7. Fastest Lap in this race was again LAME Motorsport driver Aditya Surve with a 00:52.826, very close to the next fastest driver, Rodrigo Peixoto: 00:52.895.
