The Glovebox on Bridgehampton shows a tough battle between Dallara and Tatuus

“Dallara is still very solid if I was a quicker driver like on the level with Salvador I would have been even more faster.” ~Aditya Surve

“Last glovebox [on Zwartkops] the dallara was faster, this time the tatuus seems faster, not sure you can really balance them better that that.” ~Jason Bagley

A very fair fight was held on yesterdays “Glovebox”. Only 2 Tatuus were fighting 8 Dallaras on Bridgehampton and in the first minutes of Qualifying it was clear: The Tatuus might be better here. Especially on the straight, the Tatuus proved that, while in the tight corners, the Dallara had much better handling. And so the battle started with Imanol Salvador 2 seconds faster than P2, getting pole in his Tatuus FA01.

While the race was going, Salvador made some mistakes that put him down quite a bit, while the battle in the back between M. Trompke and R. Peixoto was on. Mick was getting closer on the straights, but lost places in the mid part of the track.

“While I could make some time on the start/finish and in high pace turns, R. Peixoto pushed quite a bit more in the slower turns. After I made the move into 4th place, he pressured me quite heavily and successfully pushed me into a mistake, that lost me not only P3 but also P4. That battle was very enjoyable!” ~Mick Trompke

K. Mihaylov, holding the 3rd place until then, but missed the breaking point at the last hairpin, leaving him on P4, while R. Peixoto ended his race on P3.

“I could have not done this stupid mistake I would have be 3” ~K. Mihaylov

The race ended with Rauhala getting the win in the Dallara, while Salvador still got the podium, even after his mistakes.
